REEM Conference Creates New Model for Renewable Energy Networking, Announces REEM 2010

By Elle Communications | May 6, 2009

May 5, 2009 - San Francisco; The 2009 Renewable Energy in the Emerging Markets (REEM) conference launched an unprecedented model for the networking of renewable energy technology providers, investors, government officials, public implementers, renewable energy enthusiasts and media experts. At the close of the conference, executive director, Richard Soyombo, announced that REEM 2010 will be held April 26-28, 2010 in Guatemala, hosted by the Ministry of Energy.

"We can't imagine more fruitful results from an inaugural event," said Soyombo. "We are aware of various international business relationships that were initiated at the conference and will be excited to announce the economic impact REEM had once the numbers have been compiled."

With plenary sessions dedicated to all renewable energy technology options and their implementation in the emerging markets, attendees benefited from presentations by the 48 speakers at the event. More than 27 countries were represented at this inaugural event.

Preparation is now underway for the second annual event to be held in Guatemala. "The Deputy Minister of Energy in Guatemala was extremely impressed with the REEM conference and the potentials to the emerging markets, particularly for Guatemala, and immediately offered to become the official host of next year's event," explains Soyombo.

"Additionally, Guatemala is an ideal location for our event due to its placement in the Central America region, its dominant role in the region's energy sector, stable economy and healthy renewable energy market."

To fulfill its vision, it's essential that California and US-based renewable energy technology providers are given ample opportunity to attend REEM 2010. In addition to being given opportunities for networking and business expansion, REEM will provide US-based renewable energy technology providers the opportunity to visit local renewable energy sites with the intentions of providing them with in-depth understandings of the prevailing situations in their market(s) of choice, as well as the ability to assist local representatives in driving the market trends, opportunities and potentials.
